Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality as well as a former teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook, reveals easy to master methods and her signature spikey blonde locks. Chef Burrell has worked in top New York restaurants and studied Italian cuisine and surroundings. She also competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for culinary arts and food at very young. The Culinary Institute of America was a natural next step for her following graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication with a degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The student says "I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Culinary Institute Of America student. I loved every minute of it." It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. After graduation, chef Burrell took a gap year to Italy participating in Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Her understanding grew of Italian tradition and food through her travels in Italy that has informed her cooking style. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador in the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. Additionally, she was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps children who are struggling. In her capacity as a speaker, Burrell makes trips across the country to speak about her passion for food and her culinary career. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has always said I feel blessed to be able to share my passion for life with people.
