Dormer, born 11 February 1982 was an English actress from England. Her
achievements include winning an Empire Award, and receiving nominations for the
Critics' Choice Awards as well as two Gemini Awards and two Screen Actors Guild
Awards. Dormer was born in Reading (Berkshire) and made her TV debut as Anne
Boleyn in the Showtime series The Tudors. This role earned her widespread
praise. Her stage debut was in the production Sweet Nothings (2010) and
portrayed the Duchess of York in Madonna's movie W.E. (2011), Private Lorraine
in Captain America The First Avenger (2011). After Miss Julie (2012), at the
Young Vic, was highly and praised. Dormer was praised internationally and
received recognition for her performances as Margaery Tyrell (2012-2016 on HBO)
and Cressida (2014-2015 on The Hunger Games), which are among her most watched
films. Dormer has also played Irene Adler/Moriarty for the CBS series
Elementary (2013-15), Sara Price Jess Price in The Forest (2016) and voiced
Onica in the TV series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019). Her role as
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels which was a miniseries based on Penny Dreadful,
was highly and highly acclaimed. Dormer was born in Reading (Berkshire),
England on the 11th February 1982. She is the daughter of Gary Dormer, Claire
Richards, and Samantha Dormer.
