Melanie Jayne Lynskey
Melanie Jayne Lynskey (born 16 May 1977)
is an New Zealand actress. Her name is well-known for her humorous,
soft-spoken, yet tough characters. She works mainly in films that are
independent. She has received an New Zealand Film Award as well as a Hollywood
Film Award as well as a Sundance Special Jury Award. Lynskey made her film
debut , playing a teenage murderess , in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures
(1994). After moving to the United States in 1994, Lynskey made a name for
herself playing supporting roles in a variety of big-budget and smaller-scale
movies, such as Ever After (1998) and Detroit Rock City and But I'm a
Cherleader (both 1999), Coyote Ugly (2000), Abandon and Sweet Home Alabama
(1902), Shattered Glass (2003) and Flags of Our Fathers (2006). Lynskey's lead
role in I Must Go I Must Go (2012) brought her praise from critics as well as a
nomination for The Gotham Award for Breakthrough Performer. It was a turning
event in her career. Subsequent lead roles in Happy Christmas, We'll Never Have
Paris, Goodbye to All That (all 2014), The Intervention, Rainbow Time, Little
Boxes (all 2016) I'm Not at the Home of This World Anymore, And Then I Go (both
2017), Sadie (2018) and Lady of the Manor (2021) have established her as an
influential figure in the American independent film community. Lynskey's
portrayal as Rose on CBS' sitcom Two and a Half Men (1903-2015) made her
famous. She was the star of Togetherness from 2015-2016, and she received a
nomination from the Critics Choice Television Awards for Best Supporting
