Thora Birch

Thora Birch, born March 11 1982 was an American actress. In 1988 she made her feature film debut in the film Purple People Eater. For the role, she received an Young Artist Award as "Best Young Actress Under nine years old". Birch was a child actor who was in films such as All I Want For Christmas (1991) and the Patriot Games(1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Monkey Trouble (94), Now and Then (1995), and Alaska (1996). She received a Young Artistic Award in the category of "Best Young Actress under Nine Years Old." In 1999, Birch played Jane Burnham in American Beauty. This film resulted in an BAFTA nomination. Following that, she appeared in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Birch was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003 for her performance as the title character of Homeless to Harvard:The Liz Murray Story. Birch was also on Dungeons & Dragons (2000) (2001), The Hole (2004), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006) and Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009). Birch was also a part of Whisperer Mary or Gamma on season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-2020). Birch was born in Los Angeles, the eldest child of Jack Birch and Carol Connors. Birch is of German-Jewish, Scandinavian and French-Canadian ancestry. [6] The name Thora, which she has adopted, is taken from the name of Thora, the Norse god of thunder and lightning ("Thor") that would have been her name if she was a boy. Kian Bolt Birch is her younger brother. Both of her parents have been actors in adult films , and also appeared in Deep Throat. They were not keen to support Thora because of their experience in the industry of entertainment. However, an infantsitter saw Thora performing commercials in a similar way and got them to show Thora's photograph to agents. The first time she got noticed was at the age of four after her babysitter brought her to an audition for the Quaker Oats commercial.
