Sofia Margarita Vergara
Sofia Margarita Vergara is a Colombian-American presenter and actress. Vergara was the highest-paid actress on American television between 2013 and 2020. Vergara rose in prominence when she hosted two programs on Univision's Spanish-language television network in the mid-90s. Chasing Papi (2003) was her first big acting performance in English. In the following years, she starred in Four Brothers (2005), Tyler Perry's Comedies Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009 that earned her an ALMA Award nomination). She began her career as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in ABC's comedy series Modern Family in 2009. As a result of this role, she won four Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards. Her voice-over roles include Happy Feet Two (2011) and Escape from Planet Earth (2013). She was also in The Emoji Movie (2017). Vergara was also a highest-paid Hollywood actress in the year 2020. Vergara's mother Margarita Vergara De Vergara worked as a housewife while her father Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo worked as a cattle rancher in the meat industry. Her five siblings and many of her family members used to call her "Toti". Vergara first studied dentistry for three years at the National University of Colombia, but she left two semesters from finishing her education to pursue modeling opportunities and show business.
